Comet ISON

Comet ISON…

I figure since everyone else in the world is talking about Comet ISON, I should probably write something about it!

Welp, you’re going to be disappointed. Comet ISON was supposed to be the “Comet of the Century!” You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing about it. Or in my case, since people knew I like ‘space stuff,’ I couldn’t go anywhere without people asking me about it. Truth is, I didn’t know a whole lot more about it than they did – probably. I did at least want to image it. (And here’s where I become disappointed.) I didn’t get a chance to photograph it before it rounded the Sun. The best time to do so was early in the morning and I never got around to it justifying it to myself that it’ll be better and brighter after afterwords – which is when it was supposed to become The Comet of the Century! Well, it seems I’m a bit late now. It looks like it pretty much disintegrated as it passed near the Sun and I missed my chance. Oh well, I’ll raise my beer and wait for the next bright comet to come around!
