Got a chance to try out my new telephoto lens last night…

-I’ve been so busy learning about technical terms and techniques of photography that I forgot to pay attention to any notable events in the night sky. Turns out, the Moon made a really close approach to Venus and were only separated by a few degrees! Luckily, my dad called and gave me a heads-up so that I was able to snap this picture. The sky wasn’t perfectly clear (go figure) and had a thin layer of wispy clouds but it created a sort-of cool glow around the objects.

Notice the ‘dark side’ of the Moon illuminated by Earthshine?
