Snow Days
There’s a planetary conjunction tonight that I would LOVE to get an image of. Mars and Venus will be less than a half of a degree apart, fitting perfectly inside the field of view of my telescope and camera setup. Unfortunately, Mother Nature doesn’t care and has decided to unleash this years biggest snowfall today – of all days. The kids have been out of school all week because of record low temperatures and now, heavy snowfall.
I did, however, manage to capture one unexpected surprise derived from this winter weather… Driving back from a day trip to thew Ohio Historical Museum I noticed a sun halo! It’s basically a giant rainbow ring caused by tiny ice crystals high in the atmosphere. Pretty cool!
