Around this time of year when the days are still warm but the nights are getting cooler, the ponds will steam in the morning – which looks cool in and of itself. But every once in a while, you’ll get a glimpse of what I call ‘pond tornado’s.’ This difference in temperature causes air to move. Add in some angular momentum and you get a tornado! For me, they’re a delight to see first thing in the morning while I try to prepare myself for the day. Only about a basketball’s size in width and about 5 feet tall, they dance and wiggle translucently inches above the water. They’re almost magical. They remind me of wisps of legend…
