Saturn Cappuccino
This storm on Saturn popped up around 2010 and the spacecraft Cassini had a front row seat to take this beautiful image. The lighter colors are the cloud layers from deep down inside Saturn itself being churned up by the storm and brought to the top.
The storm is around 9,000 miles in diameter – almost exactly the same diameter of Earth. Nature provided a perfect size comparison between Saturn and Earth. I can see the Earth now riding on Saturn’s shoulder; Saturn’s immense size dwarfs the Earth like a little bird on the shoulder of a rhino.
Dip the Earth into Saturn and it stirs up the delicate creamy cloud layers; like dipping your finger into your freshly stirred Cappuccino.
